7/9 Rocky Run Shelter (15)

A lazy day out of Harper’s Ferry and into Maryland.  By the time we got ourselves up and going, we only managed to make it 15 miles into the ‘easiest state on the trail’ according to the ATC.  And it was a beautiful, mostly flat 15 miles.  We reached the first shelter and found Miller, Shnitzel, and TeenWolf and ended up hiking the rest of the day with Miller, who has won our respect for best beard on the trail.

The Ed Garvey shelter has the most interesting loft design we’ve seen yet.

We’ve been debating slowing down to make it to JoeCool’s birthday celebration in Penmar Park on the 11th, and today we sure lacked the motivation not to.

The day ended at a shelter with Miller, Little Bird, Pepi, Dragonfly, and Prairie Dog (We’re referring to the ladies as the Lady Tribe from now on to make life easier).  We’re looking forward to another day tomorrow filled with informational historic parks and flat trails.
